In this age and time every individual wants to lose weight and now on top of that, everyone wants to lose it in a jiffy but is it really possible? If possible is it the right way to lose it? Internet is bombarded with articles on how to lose weight fast. Here I am sharing what losing weight means to me.

The first and foremost step when anyone is trying or even thinking about losing weight is to consider losing weight as a lifestyle change and not just only as a quick fix. It's not a quick fix even if you lose it by some shortcuts than most people gain it all back when they return to their old lifestyle. It is a continuous process that you will have to do for the rest of your life, sure one will have their share of ups and downs but one has to keep learning and moving ahead. The most important step is preparing your mind and actively agreeing what you what to do with your lifestyle.

For the first few days start by writing all that you drink and eat in a journal and even the tiniest thing that you put into your mouth and remember be truthful to yourself. After some days observe the timings you were eating the food. Were you really hungry at that time? Were you eating emotionally? Can the food that you are putting in your body be replaced with healthier options? How much water are you drinking each day? After this small activity you will understand a lot about eating habits, the goal is to live a healthier lifestyle and you can achieve that only if you understand the mistakes that you doing with your day to day life.

Weight loss is not only about losing weight on the weighing scale. It's also about losing inches and seeing how your clothes look and feel better than before. It's about how you much more energy you have than before. It's about how now you can pose more confidently in front of the camera. It's about how your skin feels and looks more fresh and glowing from inside. So take out your measuring tape and weighing scale and jot down everything.

Weight loss is a mixture of both exercising and eating healthy food. Now that you have started eating healthier alternatives than before, it's time to amp up the game. So start it just by a 10 minute walk, even a 10 minute walk can help you to achieve your goals.It's OK if at first you are not able to walk but slowly and steadily you will be able to. Now that you can walk 10 minutes you can do any form of physical exercise, now start exploring all the options that you have. You can join a dancing class, aerobics class, Pilates, try gymming, try exercising at home, try cycling, jogging or even you can just walk or do yoga.Choose a form of physical workout that you enjoy and can maintain it for a longer period of time.

I know you have heard it a million of times before, but there is a reason everyone preaches this. You can burn all the hard work that you are doing just by messing up in this department. If you are under stress, your body releases a hormone known as cortisol or the stress hormone which is not at all good for the mind and body. Reducing stress completely may not be possible for some people but try to minimize it at all cost.Instead, if you are happy and calm your body releases endorphins, which are good for you.So keep stress at bay and be happy from inside.

You need to understand that all fats are not bad for you, there are primarily two types of fats, the good and the bad. Good fats include Avocados, cheese, dark Chocolate, whole eggs, fatty fish, nuts, Chia seeds, extra virgin olive oil, clarified butter, coconut oil and much more. You need to be wise enough to add these food items to your diet in moderation, always keeping in mind that excess of everything is bad. If you consume too much of these food items surely you can reverse all the hard work and even gain more weight but moderation is the key here.

Sleep also plays a major role when you are trying to lose weight. Developing a well structured sleeping schedule is very important for the mind and body. Sleep is the process by which the human body repairs itself and heals itself. While sleeping all the food is digested and if you have a good night's sleep, then only you can wake up refreshed and ready to face the world all over again.

Reading good inspiring quotes daily, will motivate you to be the best version of yourself. Motivation is a limited resource so one needs to refill the tank daily. Surround yourself with positive people who can inspire and motivate you to become the best version of yourself.

Always remember you cannot do anything in life if only you are doing it just for someone else. You will be able to do anything in your life, only if you want that to happen it for real. So before beginning on this journey make sure you have a strong reason for losing weight. Don't lose it because you want that boy or you are tired of listening to those lame comments. Do it because you want to become the best version of yourself. Do it because you want to. Do it because you feel like it.

Set up a realistic goal and don't try any shortcuts, with that you will hurt yourself only. Don't be too hard on yourself. You will reach there. If after a week's of hard work you don't see any results don't go and eat that burger, instead think what went wrong and try to correct it.When you think you are doing everything still not losing the weight, then don't panic instead talk to people nowadays there a lot of people who are ready to help you.Ultimately, you will reach your goal and always remember it's just not only about the numbers you should always be at peace with yourself and be comfortable and confident always no matter what happens. You are unique and the best.
